Submission of manuscripts: manuscripts must be submitted through our Open Journal Systems -OJS- platform.

There are no fees for submitting studies or notes, nor for their editing or publication in open access.

Exchanges of Estudios Trinitarios with other publications will be conducted via the following email address: estudiostrinitarios@secretariadotrinitario.org.

Manuscripts submitted to Estudios Trinitarios must be presented in digital format (.doc or .docx; not .pdf), preferably as an electronic Word file. An identical version may be submitted in other formats.

Submissions must be original, unpublished, and not previously accepted for publication, in the same or another language, in any other journal.

The primary language of submission is Spanish; however, original manuscripts submitted in other languages (French, English, Italian, and Portuguese) may also be published.

Manuscripts must be submitted in their final form in order to avoid corrections or additions at the proof stage. The journal is very strict in this regard.

Authors must submit their manuscripts exclusively through the OJS platform of Estudios Trinitarios. All communication between the journal and authors will take place through this system. No other correspondence regarding submitted manuscripts will be maintained.

Estudios Trinitarios will acknowledge receipt of all submissions within a short period, never exceeding 15 days.

Manuscripts are submitted voluntarily by their authors. Estudios Trinitarios does not provide any form of financial remuneration for published works.

Presentation Guidelines

On the first page of studies and notes, the following information must appear:

a) Title of the article in Spanish and English (clear and concise; fewer than 40 characters).

b) Full name(s) of the author(s), listed strictly according to the order of importance based on their specific contribution to the work. If the manuscript is accepted, information on each author’s specific contribution will be included.

c) In an unnumbered footnote marked with an asterisk (*), the academic degree(s) of the author(s) and the subjects they teach must be indicated. If the article is linked to a research project, the relevant data and references should be included here. [Authors may provide a telephone number, postal address, or other contact details they deem necessary; these will not be published].

d) Institutional affiliation.

e) Email address of the author(s). The email address will appear on the first printed and digital page of the published article.

f) ORCID identifier(s) of the author(s).

g) An abstract of between 100 and 150 words (maximum 1.000 characters), in Spanish and its English translation. The abstract should present the content and relevance of the manuscript in order to assist readers in deciding whether to read it, and should highlight the most relevant methodological results.

h) A list of 5 to 6 keywords in Spanish and their English translation. As far as possible, keywords should not duplicate words used in the title. The editor may add, remove, or modify keywords if necessary, informing the author(s) accordingly.

Anonymization

To ensure anonymity, the first page must be separate from the rest of the manuscript. On all other pages, neither the author’s name nor address nor any other information that could reveal the identity of the author(s) should appear. Authors are requested to ensure anonymity throughout the manuscript, avoiding references to themselves or to their own publications that could lead to identification.

Metadata

It is essential that metadata be correctly entered on the platform at the time of submission. This includes, on the one hand, information about the article (title, keywords, abstract, bibliography) and, on the other, data relating to the author(s) (full name(s) in order of authorship, institutional affiliation, academic position, email address, and ORCID identifier, which must be active and up to date).

Source of Research Funding

If the results of the work derive from funded research projects, the funding agency or agencies and relevant references must be indicated. This information must also be included in the metadata and, once the work is published, in the final version of the text.

Text Format and Length

a) Manuscripts must be submitted as Word documents in .docx format.

b) Ordinarily, the length of the manuscript, including text, tables, figures, footnotes, and bibliography, must not exceed 15,000 words (100,000 characters, all included). In exceptional cases, the journal’s editorial board may consider a longer length.

c) Font type and size: Times New Roman, 12-point for the main text; Times New Roman, 11-point for block quotations; Times New Roman, 10-point for footnotes.

d) Section titles must be in bold and consecutively numbered; subsections (1.1, 2.1, etc.) must be in italics.

General Guidelines, References, and Bibliographic Citations

a) Authors must cite the sources on which their research is based and which they have used in preparing the article, using consecutive footnotes.

b) Author names must be cited exactly as they appear in the original publication.

c) Quotations in other languages may be included.

d) Where possible, original Hebrew, Greek, or Arabic terms should be transliterated according to universally accepted scholarly standards.

e) Footnotes must be numbered consecutively and placed at the bottom of the page.

f) In cases where tables and figures of high quality are included, only monochrome versions are accepted, and they must be numbered consecutively. The precise location of their inclusion in the text must be indicated, along with a title and a reference specifying their origin and authorship. Texts transcribed verbatim should be presented in upright type and enclosed in Latin quotation marks «».

g) Latin quotation marks (« ») must always be used first. For quotations within quotations, double quotation marks (“ ") should be used. For a third level, single quotation marks (‘ ') should be employed.

h) Words or brief phrases to be emphasized should appear in italics; quotation marks (« ») may also be used, and if necessary, in hierarchical order, English quotation marks (“ ”) when quoting a text within another text.

i) In-text quotations: quotations of fewer than four lines should be incorporated into the body of the text within quotation marks. Quotations longer than four lines should be set as a separate paragraph, in quotation marks and in Times New Roman 11-point font.

j) Acronyms and abbreviations: universally recognized acronyms should be used, or otherwise explained at their first occurrence.

k) Bibliographic references must follow the citation style of Estudios Trinitarios.

l) At the end of the article, a list of bibliographic references must be included in alphabetical order, using a hanging indent for the second line of each entry.

Footnotes and Bibliography: Examples

Each time a work is cited for the first time, all bibliographic details must be provided in a footnote. Subsequent citations of the same work require only an abbreviated form. In the bibliography, the author’s name is inverted (surname first). In most of the examples below, the complete citation, the abbreviated citation, and the bibliographic entry are provided (highlighted in grey in the journal’s original layout).
